If you have your heart set on finding the perfect Ragdoll to join your family – the good news is that you have plenty of breeders to choose from.
I’ve done my best to find all of the reputable breeders across the state of Washington. You’ll have to contact them directly to find out when they’re expecting a litter.

There is no shortage of enthusiastic Ragdoll owners out there, you just need to know where to look!
A good place to start is Reddit, one of the largest online platforms for people with shared interests to hang out and share information.
The Ragdoll community is pretty big. It had 25k+ members at the time of writing this. If you have any questions as a new – or expecting – Ragdoll owner, it’s a great place to ask.
Another resource I wanted to share is AdoptaPet.com. AdoptaPet is a good choice if you’re not able to find available kittens from the above breeders, or if you just want to adopt a Ragdoll in need of a home.
There is nothing wrong with adopting a new kitten. But there is something very rewarding about giving an older cat a new home and a higher standard of living.
CFA and TICA Certifications
Two globally recognized organizations that demonstrate a breeder or a cattery is operating ethically and to a high standard are the CFA and TICA.
They have to jump through some hoops to be granted either of these certifications, so it’s certainly a stamp of approval.
Here is a brief background on each organization:
The Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) – The CFA was founded in 1906 and is the largest purebred cat registry in North America. They provide some excellent resources and are devoted to the advancement of purebred cats like Ragdolls.
The International Cat Association (TICA) – TICA was founded in 1967 and is the world’s largest and oldest association for cat breeders, catteries, and enthusiasts. Purebreds go through a strict registration process confirming several generations of pedigree.
Average Price of a Ragdoll
It’s always hard to give a price estimate as the price of exotic and pedigree cats can vary so much.
Generally speaking, however, you can expect to pay somewhere in the region of $500-$3,000 for a Ragdoll kitten depending on the pedigree.
If you’re getting into this for a show-quality cat, this price can easily be several thousand more!

Are Ragdoll Cats High Maintenance?
Ragdolls are not typically high-maintenance cats. Their easy going nature makes them great pets for people with busy lifestyles.
They will also adjust well in most situations – whether your home is small or large – making them perfect for families with children.
One thing to know about Ragdolls is that they do need to be brushed regularly. Most Ragdoll cats enjoy spending hours being brushed, petted, and loved on, so it’s not a chore.
According to experts, the best way to maintain their coat and keep it in good condition is to brush them at least twice a week.
If you do not keep on top of grooming you may have to take your Ragdoll to a groomer once every month or so to get the knots and tangled fur resolved.
Do Ragdolls Make Good Pets?
Ragdolls are exceptionally friendly and affectionate cats that make excellent companions. They can fit right into a busy, or single-person home when introduced as kittens.
They are also known for their brilliant personalities, which makes them great pets for people who prefer calm, well-adjusted animals with a good disposition.
It’s crucial to remember that kittens can be playful, and even a little rambunctious. Kittens may scratch or bite when they get excited, and that is completely normal.
Ragdolls are known for their thick coats of fur, so it’s not uncommon for them to shed. It’s important to groom them often with a damp cloth to keep their fur looking and feeling nice.
The bottom line is; if you’re willing to put in the time to groom and play with your Ragdoll, they’re going to provide you with endless hours of fun and affection.
They’re real cat-people cats, that’s for sure!
