How Much Does a Munchkin Cat Cost?

Adult Munchkins cost a little less than kittens, which is normal. You can expect to pay anywhere between $500-$1,000.

How Much Does a Munchkin Kitten Cost?

I did some asking around and a Munchkin Kitten will set you back around $1,000. Obviously, this will vary from breeder to breeder for various reasons, so if this is out of your budget don’t despair – contact the breeders above and check for yourself.

Do Munchkin Cats Have Health Problems?

Health issues such as spinal problems and issues with smaller joints in the legs are common with short-legged dog breeds, so this was always a concern for Munchkin owners/breeders.

To-date however, there has not been as strong a link as with dogs. There are two conditions; curvature of the spine, and hollowed chest, that has been reported, but it’s not common.

As for general health, there are no real concerns that are associated with the breed.

If you follow all the general kitty care rules such as feeding your Munchkin an age-appropriate diet, keeping their vaccinations up-to-date, regular checkups with your vet as per their advice and so on, there is no reason not to expect your Munchkin to live a full, long, healthy life.

How Long Do Munchkin Cats Live For?

Munchkin’s live between 12-14 years on average. Which isn’t far from the average life expectancy of an indoor cat which is 12-18 years.
