I love the tagline Whiskers Cat Cafe use, “Cats + coffee, the best of both worlds.”
That’s exactly what I’m looking for when visiting a cat cafe (along with delicious pastries), and they even offer cat yoga sessions and painting.
Whiskers Cat Cafe has partnered with KC Pet Project in Missouri to give at-risk cats a new home at the cafe, and hopefully a forever home with you.

“Enjoy a cup of coffee while petting a cat!” If you’re near to St. Louis and that isn’t enough to get your attention, I don’t know what is.
The Cheshire Grin Cat Cafe points out that they’re a rescue and nonprofit organization – with the added benefit of offering coffee and snacks.
The rescue they work with to give cats another chance is The Green Paw. All donations go back to helping care for the cats, it’s an awesome cause.

First Time at a Cat Cafe? What to Expect!
If you’ve never been to a cat cafe before, I can give you a good idea of what to expect.
Each cafe is going to be different, of course, but you can expect a combination of a cafe plus a cat adoption center for the most part.
Most cat cafes are run by cat-lovers and have a mission to help the local homeless cat population.
A lot of cat cafes take in cats from local rescues and shelters and give them a new home in their cafe. They also make their cats available for adoption for customers.
They are essentially operating as pet adoption centers and using food and drink as a way for people to come and spend some time with the cats.
Don’t let this put you off if you’re just a casual visitor though. Any donations are going to help the cafe with its mission, and ultimately help rehome at-risk cats.
Something important to keep in mind is that you will most likely have to book a time slot to visit.
Cat cafes have strict rules on how many customers can visit at a time to ensure their cats aren’t stressed by the number of people coming and going.
You will also likely see some rules on their website. Make sure you read these and are fully aware of how you need to behave and the dos and don’ts when visiting!
